OUR INSPIRATION
At Sunshine Radio, we are inspired by countryside living, wide-open spaces and the stories that define the West Coast District and Swartland. We are privileged to broadcast from the windswept West Coast region where we draw inspiration from the people, places, tastes and sounds that make up the daily fabric of life out here where the living is still easy. OUR RADIO PERSONALITIES
Sunshine Radio is hosted by a selection of well-known presenters with big personalities who have cut their teeth at some of South Africa’s best-loved stations, as well as a few fresh new voices. Together they ensure that we fill the airwaves with the most memorable and entertaining radio, which includes up-to-the-minute news and actuality to underpin our music programming.
​OUR MUSIC & PROGRAMMING
At Sunshine Radio our music mix is based on ‘remember radio’, a nostalgic blend of light contemporary tunes and retro chic recordings from the 70s, 80s and 90s that will give equal preference to South African and international artists.  Whether it’s a past hit or a potential hit, chances are you’ll hear it on Sunshine Radio. 
​GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITION FOR COMPETITIONS
  • All competitions are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Section 54 (1) of the Lotteries Amendment Act (46 of 2001).
  • All competitions are open to all South Africans, unless otherwise stated. Competitions are not open to any employees, agencies, prize sponsors, contractors or the immediate family members of Sunshine Radio.
  • No person may enter any competition within three (3) months of winning any prize on Sunshine Radio.
  • The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Prizes other than cash are not transferable, cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash and are not negotiable.
  • Winners use and accept prizes at their own risk. Sunshine Radio will not be held responsible for any accident, injury, or loss of property experienced as a result of winning, accepting and/or utilising prizes won.
  • Prizes not collected/claimed within 3 months of being won will be disposed of at Sunshine Radio’s discretion.
  • By entering any Sunshine Radio competition, entrants agree to adhere to all the competition rules and regulations.
  • Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.
  • Sunshine Radio has the right to disqualify a transgressor for entry into any other Sunshine Radio competitions, for a period deemed appropriate.
  • Sunshine Radio and the prize sponsors reserve the right to cancel any competition at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion.
  • Winners may be required to have their details disclosed and appear on radio, television, the Internet or in printed publications.
  • Sunshine Radio reserves the right to alter rules or prizes at their own discretion.
  • Sunshine Radio will make every reasonable effort to deliver the prize described in the promotion's publicity, but cannot accept responsibility if the prize differs in whole or part from that advertised. Similarly, prize values quoted may differ from the actual value of the prize.
  • Winning a competition is only finalised once the winner's name is announced on air or on any Sunshine Radio media platform.
  • The announcement of a winner on air or on www.sunshineradio.co.za or on any other media platform does not constitute a ruling by station management that the winner has complied with the rules above. Sunshine Radio has the right and may disqualify the entrant after the announcement should any rule transgressions be discovered.
  • Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of prizes.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Sunshine Radio is committed to the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa’s Free-to-Air Code of Conduct for Broadcasting Service Licensees.
 
We commit to not broadcast material
  • which reflects violence and hate speech;
  • which is harmful or disturbing to children;
  • which contains material of sexual conduct;
  •  which reflects any offensive or abusive language,
 
We commit to
  • programmes which is suitable and acceptable to our audiences;
  • programmes which is entertaining and educational;
  • news which is accurate, truthful and in the correct context and in a fair manner, without intentional or negligent departure from the facts, whether by distortion, exaggeration or miss-presentation, material omissions or summarisation;
  • comment that is honest expression of opinion which is presented in such a manner that it appears to be comment, based on facts truly stated or fairly indicated and referred to and only on actions or events of public importance;
  • to make reasonable efforts to fairly present opposing points of view either in the same programme or in a subsequent programme forming part of the same series of programmes presented within a reasonable period of time of the original broadcast and within substantially the same time slot;
  • to exercise exceptional care and consideration in matters involving the privacy, dignity and reputation of individuals, bearing in mind that the said rights may be overridden by a legitimate public interest.
